Rollback rate limit increase for Alachuckthebuck

[edit]

I'm working on cleaning up User:WLKBot's contribs using massrollback, but am running into the (normally gracious) 100 rollbacks per minute limit. Is there a way to remove this limit on my account for the next 3 days or so? All the Best -- Chuck Talk 18:04, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Alachuckthebuck: I don't think there is any way out than that of using a bot account? "noratelimit" per Special:ListGroupRights is only a part of the rights set for TA's, sysops, crats', account creators, stewards and bots. Regards, Aafi (talk) 19:02, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not my call, but "accountcreator" seems to be an option. Also, those no longer active in that group could be removed at the same time: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:ListUsers&group=accountcreator --Schlurcher (talk) 20:49, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Assigned ac for a week, but I think the rollbacks should be done with bot flag as far as possible. Krd 21:38, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Krd, (my part of the) cleanup is done, can you remove Account Creator, and remove the expration that was accidentally set on LR instead? All the Best -- Chuck Talk 23:57, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Schlurcher, Would renaming the role to (noratelimit) be more appropriate? I can see a legitimate use for removing all rate limits for certain users. All the Best -- Chuck Talk 00:02, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Alachuckthebuck No. It is not appropriate given that it is not a separate user right group. There is nothing that can be renamed to "No rate Limit" or so. However, what could be a question of interest is whether the community has a need of a new group that only has "noratelimit" ability and no other permissions. Although it is technically possible but it needs a community consensus. Regards, Aafi (talk) 08:10, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think there is no real problem in the name being a bit misleading. Krd 08:17, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well the name isn't misleading either. Regards, Aafi (talk) 13:07, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request for Translation Admin rights

[edit]

Hello - I am helping with some of the Wikimedia Foundation support for Commons content. Given we are seeking to set this content up for translation, it would be helpful for me to have Translation Admin rights. Note that I do have them on my volunteer account, but would rather these efforts be tied to my staff account. My account does have this right on other wikis (namely Meta-Wiki and Foundation Governance Wiki) and so I am familiar with its usage. Thank you for your time and consideration.
